Some pools have a drain that will automatically drain excess water during rains. Some swimming pools have a drain faucet that is located at the pool equipment. Hook a hose to turn the swimming pool filter pump on and drain the water into your cleanout, if possible. (Set a timer so you don’t forget to turn it off). Swimming pools without the drain pipe or drain faucet, will need to be drained manually as needed. Water level should stay within the skimmer opening to help the skimming of the pool surface.
If you have an auto fill, and you need to drain water, shut off the auto fill. This needs to be done, because, if you go below where you have your auto fill set to fill, it will fill up the pool to this point after you drain it.
